WOMEN'S GRANT PROGRAMS

STAFFORD LAKE MTB WEEKEND

The Stafford Lake MTB production team partnered with ACCESS4BIKES to bring our commitment to increasing participation of women and girls in mountain biking to the next level.

A4B is providing a 30% grant towards registration fees for all female participants in the Stafford Lake MTB Weekend.  That brings the total granting funding to 45% towards registrations fees.   The grant is automatically applied at registration.

Your production team, Repack Racing, B-17 Racing and CCCX Cycling will continue to increase access and lower barriers to female cyclist with ongoing programs.

A4B has been involved with the Bike Park and perimeter trail projects at Stafford Lake for many years to increase accessibilty for cycling in Marin.

SUMMIT SHORT LADIES' NIGHT

We held our first MTB Ladies' Night at the Summit Shorty on March 19th.  Despite looming rain, we had a fantastic turn-out, including 20% women and girls.  We also added a Women's B-Class category for 2025.

The Ladies' Night was funded by a grant from Access4Bikes.

We are seeking partners across the Bay Area to provide more funding opportunites for women in MTB.

FREE WOMEN / GIRLS SKILLS CLINIC SERIES w/ Jessica Tseng

JULY 5th WOMEN'S SKILLS CLINIC - DELAVEAGA PARK SANTA CRUZ

The next FREE women's skills clinic with Jessica Tseng is at DeLaveaga Park in Santa Cruz on Saturday, July 5th.

Our next free clinics for women and girls are coming up on July 5th, with two sessions on Saturday at DeLaveaga Park in Santa Cruz.

The clinics are led by Jessica Tseng from Epiphany Trail and a great group of support coaches. It's part of our ongoing commitment to the #moregirlsonbike #morewomenonbikes movements.

Last year all of the clinics filled up. With only a few spots left, we anticipate the same will happen this weekend. Details for registering for the clinic and finding out further details are below.

In addition to learning new skills and improving on existing skills, everyone who attends will be able to pre-ride the same course that will be used for race #3 of 2025 Crusher Cup Series and have the opportunity to register for the race after each clinic without a late fee.

Special thanks to USA Cycling and our production parnter B-17 Racing for providing a generous grant to help make this our biggest clinic yet!

Thank you to Trail Head Cyclery (in Cupertino), Specialized Santa Cruz Experience Center and Work Horse Bicycles (in Monterey) for supporting women and girls in their mountain biking journeys.

If anyone needs assistance in choosing the correct size of bike, be sure to read the note from Lars Thomsen, owner of Trail Head Cyclery, as it is important information, especially if you find yourself comparing models across different years (such as how a new model is different from your existing bike.

Trail Head Cyclery (Cupertino)

Riders!  My name is Lars Thomsen and I own Trail Head Cyclery, an All-Mountain shop located in Cupertino and on-line at www.trailheadcyclery.com.  We are stoked to support the CCCX Series again this year, and provide a 50% discount on our demo bikes for the skills clinics!   I’ve coached countless riders myself and often find that riders are often on bikes with a handlebar that is further from their pedals than ideal.  Today’s bikes are way longer than ever, so much so that today's Medium is about the same length (reach) as some X-Larges from just a few years ago!  This can lead to the rider being too stretched out on their bike which makes handling features and sketchy moments way more challenging or even dangerous.  I suggest contacting us at the shop prior to choosing a bike given how many variables there are in a proper fit.  We do this sort of thing every day and our crew is really good at looking up the geometry of your current bike and comparing that to the bikes in our demo fleet.  When you are ready to schedule a demo bike with Trail Head, these are the steps on how to book your sweet ride;

1.  Visit our on-line booking page or in person at the shop to reserve a bike no later than Wednesday, January 15th.  (We need time to set these up in advance!)

2.  Use your coupon code for 50% off.  CCCX+SKILLS

3.  Riders in the 9:30 am class will need to select pick-up on or before Friday the 17th with return scheduled for Sunday the 19th unless you feel that you can return the bike before 5:30 on Saturday the 18th.

4.  Riders in the 1:30 pm class could select pick-up on Saturday the 18th with return on Sunday the 19th.  The shop opens at 9:30 on Saturdays.

5.  We will set up the bike for you and have it ready to be picked up as needed with suspension tuned and pedals installed.

6.  Riders will need an approved transportation method.  (Hitch Tray, Tailgate Pad, Roof Rack (excludes e-bikes) or inside car or van (bikes cannot be stacked).More details can be found on the booking page and by chatting it up with us!  We are stoked you are leveling up with our friend Jessica Tseng, she is amazing! Ride Hard, Take Chances… Lars
