Welcome to the 3CX 2026 Mountain Bike Race Series — the Bay Area’s biggest and longest-running MTB race series, now entering its 29th year of full-gas racing at Fort Ord, California.
3CX is known for its fast, flowy courses, smooth rhythm, and friendly racing atmosphere. Each round delivers a perfect blend of speed, endurance, and fun — open to all ages and skill levels, from first-timers to elite XC racers.

2026 USA CYCLING UPDATE
USA Cycling sanctioning is undecided for the 2026 3CX MTB series. 3CX conducted a USAC survey to gather feedback from our racers and families for the 2025 series. The survey provided us with some excellent information about how our racers view the benefits and obstacles of USA Cycling sanctioning. There are also many factors we are considering from the race production side.
USA Cycling has been great to work with and we currently discussing how we might retain the benefits of USA Cycling, while reducing the obstacles based on our experience and rider feedback.
Our main objective is to reduce the cost of licenses for our riders, as well as streamline the process to the extent possible. We realize that USA Cycling only benefits a percentage of our riders, mainly Juniors. We definitely see the value in provide a path towards success at a regional/national level for riders seeking USA Cycling point.
Due to insurance structure, it is not possible to apply USA Cycling to certain groups, it's all or nothing. Thus, we can't offer licenses for free - we hope to provide pricing that will be nominal for riders that do not see a benefit. Several options are being explored.

Series Scoring
There are some changes to the scoring for the 2026 series, so please read carefully below.
Series scoring will be based on the best 4 race results for each rider competing in the series. Points will be based on finish position in the rider class. For example, 8th grade girls will only be scored against other 8th grade girls.
Riders participating in the series cannot change categories after the first race in the series.
Riders must complete at least 3 (three) races to qualify for series results. While it will be possible to finish on the podium with 3 scores, It will be very difficult finish ahead of any rider with 4 scoring races.
The point system for races 1-4 is displayed to the left.
The final, Race #5, is worth double the points in the chart to the left.
2025 CCCX Registration Pricing
Early bird ends 11 days before each race. Regular registration ends Friday at NOON before each race. Late registration ends at 12PM on Saturday before the race,

SERIES OVERVIEW
The CCCX MTB Race Series is a series of 5 races at Fort Ord.
Series scoring will be based on the best 4 race results for each rider in the series. Points will be based on finish position. Riders participating in the series cannot change categories after the first race in the series.
Series rules and scoring details are explained below.
Pro/Open Cash Prizes at each race:
1st Place - $100
2nd Place -$75
3rd Place - $50
Registration for each race ends at 12PM two days prior to race day. (i.e. Friday at 12PM for Sunday race).
There is a $20 fee for lost race plate/tag. We recommend leaving them with us between races.

Fort Ord Venue - Fort Ord Day Camp
Fort Ord is legendary for its ultra-fast trails. This is where you will lay down some serious speed without running into a lot of technical features. Average speeds can exceed 18 MPH for top finishers depending on the course. On that note - Fort Ord features nearly limitless course variation. The CCCX Race Series will take advantage of trails and features that are not often used to give riders a unique experience. We don't mind putting the extra work into course design!
